Ikat is a resist dyeing technique where yarn is "tied" and "dyed" prior to dyeing, weaving fabric. Because design is created in yarn itself, both sides of Ikat sarees are patterned. Pochampally Ikat saris are woven in Telengana, a famous Ikat weaving center in India. Odisha (Sambalpur), Gujarat (Patan Patola) are two more.
